This pretty much says it all. Will post more later about the party and the demo experiences! I’m just super stoked about this!
This week has proven to be a very excellent source of information about our favorite plant-race, the Sylvari. While I found the first day’s contribution of the new design to be interesting, I was actually the most interested in the article that came out today and yesterday on the blog. We got a much more in-depth analysis of the teachings of the Sylvari, their place in the world, and of the Nightmare Court. It’s time to go over their strange history and go down speculation lane.
It’s the week before Gamescom and the perfect time to talk about the new Sylvari! Sylvari week will be going on through Friday but today we have what I consider to be the most pivotal day: the day we get to see the new vision of this race. Today Kristen Perry wrote about both the original design, what they didn’t like, and all of the influences in creating their new version. I have to say, I for one am quite pleased with the results.
“With the roar of engines and the thunder of guns, we rip each day from life’s teeth.” If the Engineer was the profession that most showed the passing of time between GW1 and GW2, the Charr are the race that have done so. In those 250 years the Charr have gone from being a mostly primitive race that worshiped false gods to one of the most industrial nations in the world. In fact, most of the armaments that they Engineer uses look distinctly Charr inspired in design.
